The hotel is a beautiful Victorian mansion, offering breathtaking views of Lough Inagh and the surrounding rugged landscape. The cozy bar provides a fun atmosphere, perfect for winding down after a day outdoors.
While the ambiance is charming, some décor elements felt a bit outdated, which may not suit everyone's taste. The bathrooms, although clean, could benefit from a bit more brightness to improve the overall experience while getting ready for the day.

I stayed in the Superior Double Room for 2 nights, and it was super spacious! The old-fashioned style totally fit the lodge vibe. It felt so cozy even with the rain outside. The views were amazing, looking out at the rugged mountains and Lough Inagh. Only downside was that the decor, while charming, felt a bit dated in places.

great staff but decor could use updates
The staff were genuinely helpful from the moment I arrived. The food was delightful, a culinary highlight of my stay! The views from my Superior Single Room were simply breathtaking, showcasing the majestic mountains and serene lough.
The decor felt a bit dated in places, which detracted from the overall ambiance.

It was just an excellent fit for a short visit in Recess with all in all brilliant value for money. I particularly enjoyed the lovely library area where I relaxed by the fire with a good book. Be sure to try the homemade scones at breakfast. they’re worth it!

wow this place is amazin! the views are just breath-takin, the rooms are super comfy, and the breakfast with the view was a highlight. the staff were really friendly and made us feel welcome. plus, we got a lovely cuppa delivered to our room, which was a nice surprise!
only downsides were no mobile reception and the wifi was slowish, but i guess it’s good to unplug here.
